A man refuses all assistance from his daughter as he ages. As he tries to make sense of his changing circumstances, he begins to doubt his loved ones, his own mind and even the fabric of his reality. In Virgule’s production of The Father staged on the main stage of the City Theatre in Tehran, Reza Kianian’s performance and Dashtaray’s set design take centre stage. As the walls around Andre begin to shift, so does his grasp on reality. Staged in a time where aging structures around us all begin to shift.
